Art that gives back to nature.

A note from Karen…

Light and color are more vibrant in the tropical rainforest than in any place I’ve been. I love the dense, lush greens and the richness of the shadows against light-filled areas of pinks, oranges, and surprise colors. I love how the light plays through and around the leaves, creating a fascinating array of values and shapes. I want my work to reflect the vibrancy and luminosity of this environment and to be so realistic that the viewer feels they can walk right into
the painting.

The rainforests of the world are severely threatened, and it is important to me that I am involved in helping to change that. It is not my job to defend the rainforest issue in words. It is my hope that I am able to do that visually through my work. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of my work goes to assist the effort to save the rainforests of the world.

My work has taken me all over the world, from the aviaries of Australia to European museums, to the rainforests of Central and South America, and the shores of South Pacific islands. My work has been recognized in numerous exhibitions in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Hawaii.

In creating a painting, part of my wish for it is that it will find its way to interesting places and interesting people in a position to affect change, and that it be a visual reminder for the purpose for which it was intended. It is my privilege to support the efforts of environmental organizations worldwide.

Ms. Bierce's reputation and exceptional photorealistic style have attracted collectors, both individual and corporate, from all over the world.
